The moment I was able to do breast feeding to my baby, I asked my hubby to go buy me a breast pump, so I can start expressing my milk in preparation for going back to work.
The first few days of breastfeeding I wasn't able to give her much milk, so had to sort to formula. But after eating soup with green papaya in it, the following day, I had lots of milk. Thanks to my bestfriend's advice. And in due time I was able to produce 3 oz of milk for her. Wow! Really a surprise, didn't know it was possible.
Anyways back to the breast pump, if you ask me about manual vs electric breast pump, you might as well invest in electric, since it's a lot faster not to mention less hassle for you. Here's why:
We tried the manual type, it wasn't that good to use since it's quite a hassle to manually pump. And maybe the product we bought wasn't that good I think, since after 2 weeks the handle broke off. Sheesh! What a waste of money. And that pump cost us 500+ pesos.
I recommend the Pigeon electric breast pump, though it cost a lot more (P2,000+), it's more convenient and no hassle at all to use, the best part is, it easily dries off, so you can use it again after 2 hours. Yey!!!
